I’ve asked myself all these questions at various times in my life. Perhaps you have too. I hope you don’t wait for the metaphorical two-by-four to hit you upside the head or become so stressed out that you land in the hospital, which both have what happened to me. I ignored that little voice inside that was trying to tell me to slow down, listen to the messages my body was giving me, and connect with myself.  I didn’t listen to the whispers, “No, not that…yes, this.” I’ve learned through these experiences, my certification as a Martha Beck Life Coach, and Somatic Practioner training that when we tune into our intuition and the messages our body is sending us, it will lead us toward our true path. Once I began tuning in to the wisdom within me and healed my past, my life began falling into place. I regained my health, my self-worth, and the power to unapologetically be me.

It doesn’t matter if you’re an awesome stay-at-home mom who keeps your family together or a career-minded woman—perhaps you’re balancing both. What I do for my clients…

I will bring to our sessions my coaching training with Martha Beck, my somatic training, my experience as the CEO and COO of my family, and the wisdom I gained after I stopped ignoring my intuition. As your coach, I will help you get from where you are today to where you want to be. The “Wayfinder Life Coach Training” is a rigorous program composed of coursework and hours of coaching practice. I’ve taken attachment strategies master course and am well-versed in how our attachment styles affect our adult relationships. I have developed the tools and confidence to help you find your way to peace—to quiet your head chatter to help you gain clarity and insight about your most pressing issue(s). Exploring the topics you bring to our sessions will begin to develop a path that will lead you to your dreams and desires.

I also bring a somatic piece to my coaching. Somatic means a body-oriented therapeutic approach. The word somatic comes from the Greek word soma, which means “body.” Somatic healing therapies fall within the spectrum of mind-body therapies and specifically refer to those therapies that work with a bottom-up approach. Peter Levine, PhD is the developer of Somatic Experiencing®, a naturalistic and neurobiological approach to healing trauma, and developed the training I have taken.

Somatic healing resolves symptoms of stress, shock, and trauma that can accumulate in our bodies and nervous system. When you are stuck in patterns of fight, flight, or freeze, somatic exercises can help you release and recover so you can become more resilient.

Intertwining somatic healing exercises into my coaching allows you to connect with your body more deeply. It helps you feel the sensations in your body, use guided imagery, observe your responses, understand how you show up to the outside world, and make meaning of it so you no longer stay stuck in old patterns.

I also provide a welcoming space so you feel safe to tell your truths, even those you've been afraid to tell anyone else. You'll have a moment to breathe and have a place to not “do” anything if that’s what you choose. Together, we’ll take small steps each week so you can find more happiness in your sometimes turbulent life. Over time these small steps will add up to big changes.

When you gift yourself this time, you’ll discover more focus, creativity, resilience, presence, and happiness in your life. You’ll learn to let go of the unimportant details that used to bog you down, so you can feel closer to your loved ones.

Reading self-help books is another way to set goals and get inspired. I’ve read many: The Untethered Soul, The Power of Now, Braving the Wilderness, The Four Agreements, Waking the Tiger: Healing Trauma, Attached, and many more. I’ve taken away nuggets from each one, but sometimes that information doesn’t stick. You fall back into your old habits and don’t follow through on the exercises. A year later you’re back where you started.

Time is a valuable commodity, and having the right support can keep you moving more quickly toward the life you were meant to live.
